The Tribe of Judah was only one of many tribes living in what is now the Middle East. Jewish people used to be found in large numbers everywhere in that part of the world, even in Makkah and Madinah during Mohammed's time. As another poster said, there was much intermingling between peoples throughout the centuries (Jewish women typically weren't allowed to marry non-Jewish men in antiquity but Jewish men in some periods did take non-Jewish women). It should come to no surprise that many present day Israelis can trace their roots back to the surrounding region. Even Ashkenazi Jews, in spite of some racial intertwining throughout the centuries, can claim the same too. It shouldn't even be a shock if a Jewish Israeli had distant Arab Muslim relatives, even their respective scriptures say that they all trace back to Abraham (Ibrahim).

Genealogically speaking, there are many similarities between the various peoples living in the Middle East. If I saw Gal Gadot or Moran Atias out on the street, I wouldn't be able to tell by facial features whether they were Hebrew or Arab.

One major thing that greatly annoys me is how they depict Jews as Northern/Eastern European with German/Yiddish surnames....nearly half the Jews in Israel are Sephardi/Mizrahi and they look Mediterranean or Middle Eastern.

Although. It is true in Israeli politics and upper class: they tend to be of Ashkenazi roots due to preference for European Jewry (even the first prime minister of Israel view the Sephardi/Mizrahi Jews as primal....racist bastard).

So I find it very laughable when I see Israel v Palestine documents deoicting the Jews as European looking while the Palestinians look very dark or Middle Eastern even though their skin tones can vary and eyes colors as well.

Interesting food for thought especially about who controls media, representation etc.

Quote:
The reports emanating from the Middle East that some 1200 Israeli citizens working at the World Trade Center failed to show up for work on September 11 have been widely scoffed at. However, an early report that U.S. officials would investigate the allegation has been followed by stone silence. Any investigation should begin by checking the roster of occupants of the WTC for Israeli residents. And, remember, American Jews can become Israeli citizens and maintain their U.S. citizenship.

Eighty-one countries are represented among the dead and missing in the September 11 disaster. So far, not one Israeli citizen has been listed among the victims. Is it possible that the complex of buildings housing the global center of international business, banking and commerce contained no Israeli citizens on September 11, on a working day morning?

Mossad field agents are indistinguishable in looks and appearance from Arabs and speak fluent Arabic, including the variety of Arabic dialects spoken from the Atlantic Ocean, across North Africa to the Red Sea.

This theme isnt limited to Israel. You will find this in almost every culture around the world. In the US, light skinned blacks are "perceived" as superior to dark skinned blacks. Its still relatively uncommon to find dark skinned blacks in positions of prominence, with the pretty much the only exception being in sports, where actual athletic talent allows dark skinned people to excel (eg Michael Jordan). In India, their film industry (called Bollywood) is full of girls with very fair skin and green eyes, even though most regular Indian girls are much darker, indeed in South India they can be VERY dark skinned. Watch pretty much any Latin American TV and the girls tend to be blond haired light skinned, even though most of the populations of Mexico for example are mestizo and much darker and rarely blond.
