it is wrong impression that Asians in America are more liberal. they traditionally voted more democrats, but that has started to change. Asians are more for traditional family values, against open border, against welfare state, etc. they are now aligned with republican values in today's political environment.
Well on the issue of same sex marriage when California voted no, Asians of all ethnicities were of the few groups to vote for same sex marriage, including Filipinos who are among the most reliable mass attending Catholics in the state.

You're speaking only of first generation immigrants from mainland China. Asian Americans as a group have definitely trended democratic over the last decade.
The Philippines haven't even "decriminalized" divorce yet. But then, it is the only Christiam country in Asia
Well, Denmark is a Christian country as well. I don't see them banning something as ridiculous as a divorce.
There's no use blaming your medieval laws on religion or any other concept. Backwards practices are backwards. Just be straight with it.

What the US is like has nothing to do with China either.
Who are these "most people"? Considering that most countries in the West have already legalised gay marriage, I think many Westerners would consider China very homophobic. Again, just because it's not as homophobic as Iran or Iraq doesn't mean it's not homophobic at all. The fact that somebody else has it worse doesn't make one's failure any less of a failure.

I don't know. You never said you have been to China. Usually people who have say that sooner or later, since you have been posting on this forum for years.
OK I am wrong. But that makes you even more weird.
Why would that be weird? It's perfectly common to dislike a country even more after having visited.

It's up to you to decide if backward practices may be based on religio. The last dozen countries to legalize divorce, all in the past few decades, are all heavily influenced by Roman Catholicism.
Check your post history and make sure you never attributed any backward practices to Islam.

You are the only one who keeps saying China is homophobic.
This forum has many foreigners who lived in or traveled to China, and none of them says so. Overseas Chinese do not say so either. So what you said is basically another China bashing garbage.
It's perfectly common to hate/dislike a country after visiting it, but it's uncommon to fabricate lies and false information.
Also, not allowing same sex marriage is not necessarily homophobic. (Don't argue. I don't care.)

Lol. How many foreigners frequent this forum? There have been like 5 people responding to this topic and 2 of them are PRC apologists. You can simply Google China and homophobia, there'd be a ton of results.

Reason: Personal attack
China is a big place with lots of people. There are laws and policies that are very arguably homophobic in nature, but that does not mean they are enforced and how widely and to what extent homophobia occurs within peoples / social groups varies widely. I know for a fact that there is a very large and tolerated, even celebrated depending on who you're talking to, homosexual community in Shanghai.
