Cool. Thanks for posting that link. I had read something about that family years ago, and wanted to read more but never followed up on my interest.

I myself spent 18 years living in Asia, and became fluent in a couple of Asian languages, so I have a similar experience at least in the acculturation process. Of course, I was never recruited by the CIA, although I was asked a few times if I was CIA by locals trying to tease me.

I lived up above Nimmanhaemin Rd, on Suthep Rd. for four years..must have walked by that Border Patrol gift shop 1000 times...It is common knowledge that most of the consulate staff are CIA or DEA, but I had no idea their roots were that deep in the area. Lots of EuroTrash US bashers in CM, bet they didn't realize they wanted to move to a place practically born and raised by a US spy network.
