What are you talking about, the US and especially Republicans has been blaming China from day 1. During spring it was so bad that some people started attacking Chinese physically.
And that is quite pathetic. No matter what, it is not Chinas responsibility to make sure Covid is controlled in America. Chinas responsibility is to make sure covid is controlled in China.
China is to blame for the virus for reasons that have already been discussed. I can simply refer to a dozen different threads here, it's already been covered.
But COVID was a main topic in this years presidential election cycle. You know this, everyone knows this. The debates covered it extensively. The media and opposition party also made this a main topic on blaming the administration for slow reaction (even though infection rates and impact were similar as in Europe). A good example is CNN which spent some time attacking the administration and, in some articles, praising China for eliminating the virus (and, as I said, after the election they are now focusing more on China's culpability - surprise surprise). We know the media bias, it's understood. So what are YOU talking about.
But forget all that. It's inconsequential to the topic. There is one, only one, bottom line - China lied, people in the world died.

China locked down Wuhan, a city of 10 million on Jan 23. The whole world saw it.
(And the lockdown is a real lockdown, nothing like those in the west.)
.

Do you realize that even if China did not lie, people in the world would have still died?
The reality is that by 1 january it was already outside China, and once it is outside then it will spread, and it is up to each country to contain it.
However, if your own leaders had taken it seriously when China took it seriously, then we might have been able to contain it. Instead Trump said that it is only a flu and did almost nothing for 2 months.

What's this - revisionist history time? Almost every word you just typed is incorrect.
No. China lied about the extent and ease of transmission of COVID. We've discussed this before - the first case of COVID in the US was diagnosed on January 20th. At that time it had been raging in China for 2 months. During that time China was still lying about the extent and easy spread of this virus which hindered the ability to take action earlier.
Regardless, travel restrictions from China were enacted on January 31st (which illicited much complaint).
We also have to address why the virus started there in the first place - inadequate control of it's food markets or improper lab procedures take your pick. But they have the blame.

Once again - China lied, the world died.
It's a f*king NOVEL coronavirus so of course people in China did not know all the details from the beginning.
China locked down Wuhan and Hubei province. How more serious do you want them to be?
Now the US knows how serious it is. And what did they do?
Also, now we know some other countries (i.e. Italy) had cases before the first reported case in China. What did they do? (Not to blame them, just to illustrate people had no idea how things work.)
