Anyone try to buy from Amazon and ship to Asia? (country, safe)

How does that work? What's your experience? What country did you ship to?

I have in-law families in both Jakarta, Indonesia and Singapore so I am trying to find out if I can buy on Amazon and ship to them? Stuff can range from simple items such as vitamins to electronic gifts.

Also not so much as Singapore but I worry about how safe the package is when shipped to Indonesia? Any experience to share is appreciated.

In Thailand..you pay high customs fees upfront and get your stuff in a few weeks...15 dollar package of fruit of the loom will set you back 45 ...

there is an outfit in BROWNSVILLE,TX which is used by Mexican AMZN prime members in Mexico.
They will buy on AMZN and have the goods shipped to that outfit FREE,then for $5 per item(discount for multiple items),Mexican customs duty of 13% ,this outfit will cross the bridge to MExico,cleared customs and turn the shipments to a Mexican shipper with tracking.
As most electronic items are expensive in Mexico ,this is a cheaper than buying locally.
It has since expanded to countries besides Mexico,may be you can check them out to see if they ship to SE Asia or may be a similar outfit offers same service to SE Asia.
Or you can provide such service if you are in US.

No problems for me in the past 25 years in asia - Japan, South Korea, and Macau.

Indonesia might be different though…

most of AMZN items come from SE Asia,there may be Asian websites which sell the same items online
