OP’s title seems to be about expats but then OP’s first post is about genetic ancestry. That National Geographic study just calculated the average admixture of a Filipino. It doesn’t show census data. So it doesn’t mean that 2% of the population are Native Americans. That’s over 2 million Native Americans in the Philippines. Definitely not. And it doesn’t mean that 5% of the population are Southern Europeans. That’s over 5 million Europeans. Again, nope. Filipinos are more likely to have European (and I guess Native American) ancestry than the surrounding nations, but I can guarantee that more Europeans live in surrounding nations than in the Philippines. And as for Latin Americans, again there are probably more in other Asian nations than in the Philippines. Their population is quite low in the Philippines.

But if you want to talk about European/Eurasian who are multi-generational and not simply recent expats, then I think the Philippines has more than surrounding countries. But again, still a minority population

are we talking about europeans expat living in phiipines or philpinals born in PhILI[PINES with Caucasian blood?
There is not enough Spaniards to populate Central and South America and Philipines, tho they speak Spanish and have Spanish names, they have few Spanish blood in them.
When I visted HK,I SEE MANY MANY philipinals in the streets, none of them remind me of mixed blood.
Who is that Philipines lady in Spain, she was once married to Julio iglesia? She has some Spanish blood in her

I would think HK,Singapore would have more Europeans or Caucasian than Philipines due to business, many Western firms set up office in HK,they prefer HK than China due to pollution, law and it is close to CHina,China is the reason why they are in Asia and HK is the place to be if you dont want to be In china but still do business in China.

The average Filipina on the street will not have enough European blood to affect how they look. A Filipino with 1-5% or even 10% European blood will just look like a regular Filipino

The mom in the photo looks like a Filipina you would see in HK. She's just 1.3% European, so of course you don't see it in her features

A regular average Filipino with distant (1.4%) European ancestry. You can't see European anywhere in his features and why should you?
https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/com...rage_filipino/

3% European. Still looks Filipino
https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/com...e_philippines/

He's 7% European, which is slightly above average. You can start to see very minor European but he still looks Filipino
https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/com...nt_things_but/

A Filipina with nearly 20% European, but she still just looks Filipino, or Filipino-Chinese. I don't see European at all
https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/com...ino_expecting/

He's 21% European, so yes, you start to see the Spanish influence in his features. But still, he doesn't stand out enough in the Philippines for people to think he's foreigner. He still looks Filipino, just not a typical one

This woman is 37% Spanish. She definitely looks mestiza, but people in the Philippines would still think she's Filipino. There are pictures of other relatives who look completely Spanish/European though and would not pass anywhere in the Philippines, even though they're actually from the Philippines
https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/com...n_my_moms_dna/

She's 49% European and she looks more like a Chinese-Filipina than a Spanish mestiza

So, I ask, aren't there other nations here like us? That either have a large European or Latin American minority population? Can anyone provide examples?
the study has to be questioned 36% of East Asians to Filipinos but very precise for Vietnamese people who are indeed the majority of faces like chinese but not for Filipinos..because the majority of filipino appearances still look Austronesian "Maritime" compared to the northem.hmmm moreover the face looks like mixed European
Sorry, you can compare the Vietnamese and Filipinos , it is
clear that the Vietnamese people have a mixture of east asia compared to Filipinos

Go to a mall, you'll see only a couple of "Europeans", but from colonial days, sizeable number have a detectale bit of Spanish ancestry, and maybe about half have Spanish surnames. Like Africa and much of Asia, those with noticeable European featores have almost all the visibility jobs, like actors, models, TV presenters.

But out in the streets 99% are at least partly Filipino. Maybe only 98% in upscale malls. Most descended from Spanish-speaking colonials have Mexican roots, not Spanish.

Mall video tours don't tell the truth. In third world, people who have visible European ancestry are a notch above the average economic level, especially those whose family expat parent is still in the household. They shop in malls, not the street markets. Furthermore, there are a couple dozen countries where women are rare or absent in shopping videos. Dues this mean there are few women in their national demographic?

In Philippines/Manila people rarely see East Asians lookin because the Chinese or mixedblood population is very small there. even in Chinatown in Manilaa lmost common people there faces are Local /Austronesian Maritime than Chinese Looks this are defferent when you are in Bangkok, KL or Jakarta, it is almost common to find features of people who are Oriental or East Asian
