So, I ask, aren't there other nations here like us? That either have a large European or Latin American minority population? Can anyone provide examples?
I assume you're talking East Asia because the more westerly and central parts of that continent have been at the forefront of invasions, occupations and societal interactions with European empires going back thousands of years which has obviously lead to a genetic imprint and diaspora communities forming.
To answer your question maybe certain indigenous Siberian groups who have genetic imprints from East Asians, Beringians, and Russians.

I meant in East Asia, yes. Are Russians East Asian too due to geography?

Genetic studies for ansestors can be flawed. Sure genetic studies can be accurate in the most recent generations, however the deeper one goes in, it is not.
Yet all countries in Asia that were part of European possessions in the past, there was intermarriage. In Indonesia the upper class of Colonial society were Mixed race people who had European fathers or part European heritage. Today there are many White people living in Bali, less so in Jakarata.
If you go to Thailand you see so many White expats living there too..

Eh... Sort of in the geopolitical sense but when people think of East Asia in terms of its population the first group that comes to mind are Mongoloids. Russia does have 4.5 million Siberians native to the land so they would count if we're talking genetics. I think their defence minister is Eurasian with native east Turkish and Russian DNA.

it's inaccurate data..
this is an accurate : https://assets-a1.kompasiana.com/ite...500b8cb8e5.jpg study that describes Filipinos as Austronesian with some negrito sparks there isn't any east asia/european in filipinos genes in general
Genetic South East Asian : Thais, Malays,Indonesians, Filipino, Polynesian, Micronesian, Madagascar
That 5% European represents average amount of European in Filipinos. It doesn't mean that 5% of Filipinos are European. It means that the average Filipino is 5% European. That's distant ancestry already. Don't expect to go to the Philippines and see 1 European out of every 20 people. It's far less than that. Whites are few and far between in most areas. And the 5% European DNA will not be visible in most Filipinos because 5% will usually not show at all in facial features
Anyways, I don't know if that study is even trustworthy because you can't find any links to it anymore.
Here's a much larger, more recent study (2015) from California that focused on autosomal DNA. It had 100,000 participants from various backgrounds, including 7,500 Asians. Among them were 1,708 Filipinos. https://www.genetics.org/content/200/4/1285
So far, it's the genetic study with the largest number of Filipino participants. The study measured the admixture of various groups. What this study considered "admixture" is 5% or more of an ancestry
"A genetic continental ancestry was assigned to an individual if her/his estimate for that ancestry was at least 5%."
Any time the study mentioned Filipinos, it mentioned European ancestry:
“we also observed a modest amount of European genetic ancestry in individuals self-identified as Filipinos.”
"In addition, we noted that for self-reported Filipinos, a substantial proportion have modest levels of European genetic ancestry reflecting older admixture."
"Of particular interest is the continuous nature of a modest amount of European genetic ancestry in self-identified Filipinos, consistent with older European admixture."
So basically, this study found that it's common for Filipinos to score at least 5% European. It doesn't mention how common though. But it's definitely not rare, like so many people seem to believe. Out of all the 7,000+ Asians they tested, the study only mentions Filipinos as having European admixture.

You don't seem to understand how those calculations work. They specifically chose Negrito, Melanesian, Astro-asiatic, Austronesian, and other Asian. They didn't even test for European. That's why European doesn't pop up at all anywhere on the map. There was no reference population. If European were a reference population, I guarantee you that the Polynesian category would have a large chunk of European because you find heavily European-mixed people on all the Polynesian islands. So please know your information before you post sources

Indonesia did have a very large European-mixed population in the past. But almost the entire population either fled or was massacred after independence. They didn't view themselves as Indonesians, and neither did the native population.
You can see that they're scattered and they don't really have a community in Indonesia. They seem miserable. This video says there's only 80 elderly Dutch-Indos left in Jakarta and Bandung
Meanwhile, in the Philippines. Spanish-Filipinos mostly remained in the Philippines after independence because they viewed themselves as Filipinos.
Look at Manuel Quezon, second president of the (independent) Philippines. He was mostly Spanish and he looked like it too
In Indonesia, this man would have been killed before he could even think about becoming president. He would be viewed as a colonizer. But in the Philippines, he lived and died. His descendants still live in the Philippines
Other Filipinos of Spanish-descent still living in the Philippines today
They're a small minority, but they're by far larger than any French living in Vietnam or Dutch living in Indonesia.
Also, don't confuse expats with native-born European/Eurasian populations. They're very different. The group you're talking about doesn't have roots in the country and probably will never become citizens. The group I'm talking has many generations in the country and are citizens. Very different.
For example, as you can read in the article. These are 5th generation Filipinos still living in the Philippines
An expat who moved to Thailand or Bali is in no way comparable to them. There are many American expats living in the Philippines, but they don't even belong in this conversation.
