This is just to inform those who may be interested in attending medical schools in the Philippines. There are many very good medical schools in the Philippines. There’s UERM, UP, UST, FEU, CIT to name a few. In this particular case, UERM. Local Med students there behave very immature. During my clinicals where everyone are supposed to help each other the locals deliberately did not. I learned my lesson pretty fast. As soon as I realized this I stopped relying on anyone else. It’s a sad case because the school supposedly requires the students to help one another so the teams succeed.
Also, UERM makes it known that they have partnerships with hospitals in the US in case Fil-Ams or even locals may want to do clinicals in the US. Well, that is not really the case. Any student from any school can do clinicals in the US (as long as they can afford to and want to). UERM has no monopoly nor do they arrange these clinicals. It is up to the student body to arrange it. Plus the agency they used is pretty useless. Student should just contact the US hospitals directly and arrange the clinicals themselves. Do not pay an agency to do it as they really do not do anything.
