Double-arm transplant vet 'getting a second chance' - Health - Men's health | NBC News

So far only 7 people in the US have had this surgery, but what a fantastic scientific advance it is.

Quote:
To explain how much recovery Marrocco can expect, Lee pointed to the results from another patient who had a similar surgery three years ago.
“He was showing me how he was now able to tie shoe laces with his transplanted hands,” Lee said of the previous patient. “Also, in addition to being able to tie his shoes, he sent us a video of him using chopsticks with his transplanted hand.”

Death and disease fill the world through materialism in the first place.

What is that supposed to mean? Death and disease predate materialism, and one consequence of materialism is the development of modern medicine which has done more to arrest disease and prolong life than any non materialistic ventures.

If it wasn't for greed, humans would have made less progress, not more. Would you refuse to take a life saving drug because it was developed and distributed by a corporation which was motivated by profit?

Death filled the world from the beginning and so did diseases. We have more cures and more ways of keeping people alive now than we did before science was so successful.

You are allowed to drain water from a burgeoning hole in the hull. Materialism tears and there's an attempt to pump.

Oh, that's right, because several thousand years ago man knew just about everything there was to know about the nature of reality, the origin of man, and the structure of communicable diseases, weather patterns, and the often sorrowful pain of existence. As time has gone on and we examine humanity through great works of literature, we unlock the mysteries of the universe with scientific endeavors, and we use technological advances to further the prosperity of humankind, we've slowly begun to forget that all this would be unnecessary if it weren't for our pesky fruit-biting ancestors.

You're going to have to do a lot better than referencing an erroneously translated, out-of-date book written by barbaric fools and pieced together by misogynistic men with no understanding or conception of how the world works. A fourth grader could be closer to explaining the nature of reality than the book you're trying to use as an argument.
