Several years ago I was at my cardiologist's office and I told him about some heart episodes that I commonly had related to mild tachycardia. "Oh, that's nothing", he said. My reply was, "Then may those kids of heart episodes happen to you". "Well, that's a cruel thing to say!" "Why. That's nothing". And then he backed off and said, "Okay. It's not nothing. But it's not going to kill you".
Ok. I can relate. Had a similar experience with a doctor and my mom. My mom had a respiratory emergency. She was intubated in the ambulance. I got to her ER room, and then to intensive care. The doctor told me I should just "let her go"...in her intensive care room...with a tube shoved down her throat...and she's fully awake to hear what he's saying! The doctor was furious with me because I said, "NO!" He angrily protested, "What kind of quality of life will she have?" I said, "Gee, I don't know. But when it's YOUR turn to be on life support, I'll be there to tell your family to give up on you...within YOUR earshot!"
Needless to say, I got a new doctor for her. She lasted another 7 months.

So, in the same vein, you don't think God drowning people in a flood was cruel. So I presume you don't think it would be cruel of me to say, "Then may you drown in a flood". But I bet you don't think that...when it's you, or your husband, or your son or daughter, instead of some nameless, faceless person that lived over 2,000 years ago. Have you no conscience?
This is not about whether I have a conscience.
As for what happened to those people after they drowned...for all you know, ONE of them is your guardian angel...

Which may have been God's plan all along.
Can't god accomplish things without violence. Isn't he bright enough?
I wonder if anyone else thinks god is a man. A man in the sky with white hair and a white beard?
LOL! I think some people DO think that about who God is!
Not only that, but they think that believers think that way.
I don't think of God as some white guy, flying around in the clouds. And most Christians I know of, also don't think of God that way.
To me, God is more like...trying to think of what 'power' looks like. Whether it's power behind a driving sea, or the 'power' of love...
