It was written less as an explainer like our sticky post here, and more as "before you launch some argument against atheism that you think is original and/or brilliant, maybe review these most common questions / tropes here first, so as not to embarrass yourself."
I commend it to all believers visiting this sub-forum :-)

Good article.
Interestingly, I tend to share most of the beliefs. And find myself to have more in common ( intellectually and rationally) with most atheists.
I just ran across this on Quora, and think it's so excellent that I thought I'd reference it here. https://commonsenseatheism.quora.com...tation-Booklet

(a) ahhhh.....an atheist apologetics tract
(b) not just a single tract, a series of tracts, a veritable atheist apologetics press
(c) rote sarcasm and condescension duly noted
(d) such as "Snarky Answers to Stupid Questions" and "More Snarky Answers to Stupid Questions"
(e) sarcasm and snark are not an effective tool of communication.
my view is that the person or site or apologetics press or fan base which promotes and boasts and advertises "snarky" as a selling point and desirable attribute, is not conducive to well, effective communication or personal growth. Since the opening post "commends it to all believers visiting this sub-forum" that is my response.
sarcasm and synonyms: to mock or convey contempt; derision, mockery, ridicule, scorn, sneering
snark and synonyms: cynical, snide, irascible, sarcastic, spiteful, testy, abrasive, caustic, cutting, irritable, scornful, short-tempered
if those are qualities and character traits which a person applauds, adulates, admires, and aspires to, then yes the site being promoted in OP is a fit.

I thought atheism was supposed to be so free in thought, and free from the leading of others.
That is just a bible and rulebook for atheists. Did no one catch that? LOL Disappointing, but not surprising.
Perhaps no one caught that because that's not what it is. It is merely addressing common theist questions that have been answered a thousand times before.
I am not "led" by the author; I happen to agree with him however. I have written versions of these points myself over the years. I will admit it's a bit snarky, but you don't counter the points he's making by objecting to tone, you counter them with evidence. Would I be that snarky? Generally no. But that is just choice of phrasing and approach, and doesn't speak to credibility or accuracy.
It is telling that no theist here has addressed any of the points presented, as per usual. Instead it is just ad hominem dismissiveness, because apparently that's all you've got.

the atheist apologetics site, and many of its supporters here on CD, claim to be "rational" but it is not rational to talk down to others using condescension, sarcasm, and snark and expect to be taken seriously. so i disagree with view presented in post above. it very much speaks to a lack of credibility. and it precludes any rational discussion.
