Yes I was Ilene Wright for a while. Before that I was Day of the Lord (I know) and then shortened it to DOTL after being made fun of for my name. I mean, it was a bit much. Sort of like "Baptist Fundie". Northsouth is my original moniker for this account. The stages of the journey into heathenism. Yep it all played out right here on CD starting 2008.

Right. I'm familiar with the term more commonly used elsewhere but I wasn't sure exactly where. Now I seem to remember mention of Wales some time ago. I forgot. What a beautiful country we enjoyed traveling through in January. After the Xmas holiday spent in London. Belgium; Bruges and Brussels from there. Wales after that. Back to London through the Cotswolds. Two weeks worth of very fond memories going from one beautiful spot after another.

Yes, I recall those days when I was a Christian wet-behind-the-ears forum poster (CD was the first forum I ever joined) and you and I were having some conversations on a variety of topics like different kinds of salvation, hell and the rapture with people like Ironmaw1776, preterist, phazelwood, and my favorite of all Betsey Lane and her infamous, "....FINAL ANSWER!!!!!!!!"

Well, as you say it's a long journey where we get to spiritually from 2008 to 2023 but there's lots of fun along the way reminiscing about the good 'ol days over members who are no longer around for one reason or another. I occasionally go back to my earliest threads and thumb through them to recall the members who are gone now. What a difference 15 years makes.

LOL

In my exJW group we enjoy purging our cringe stories to each other.

Be glad they are just cringe. Some people have hurt others so horribly while they were under the influence that they cannot forgive themselves.

You remind me of my good friend who just paid us a visit. Into 5+ years sobriety and still purging some of his "cringe stories" with others. Often at AA meetings. Also still "making amends" he still feels is necessary with some of his friends and relatives. What some people do "under the influence" (regardless the influence) can truly be a living nightmare.

Fortunately that some people can finally wake up from. Far too many people don't...
