I was not raised in religious household. I went to school with many children who were fervent churchgoers. They grew up now only go to church for weddings and funerals and have, to me, lead lives not as moral as they had said they would when they were young.
Perhaps it is the early repression (beating religion into them with a stick) that makes people go overboard when then get older and become militant Atheists.
I would like my kids to "learn" religion. It is easy where I live. I do not want to force them to believe like the children I mentioned earlier.
Can't say I ever really believed but did realize that there was a term for what I am called when I was in my early teens. I did play along for quite a while because I thought for the longest time I was the only person who didn't believe and that there was something wrong with me. Now, I'm quite content with it.
I was raised in a religious family, my Father was a retired minister at the time of my birth. I no longer believe, I no longer WANT someone to tell me how to live my life, I can figure this out on my own.
