One of my all time favorite threads was a book discussion between believers and non-believers. We did I Don't Have Enough Faith to be An Atheist followed by The God Delusion and discussed them both. Currently, on the Christian forum, they have a book discussion going on and so it got me to thinking about doing a book discussion on Atheism. I suppose it could also be a book on something that we Atheists generally share as a common view (like evolution - although I've just finished an extensively long book on that so I could use a change of pace.) But, we could also do something like Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe that explains String Theory and things of that nature. I'm just trying to be open to suggestions as I know many of us do indeed read quite a bit and I'm trying to allow for a wide range of topics as long as we can keep it in the realm of what we can agree on to read. And, yes, believers are certainly welcome to join in the discussion/thread/read as well.
I'd be willing to do it. There's one book I've been thinking about reading and that's The Language of God by Francis Collins who I understand is a believer but I recall that somone on this forum who's an atheist said it was a very good book. I'm open to any ideas though. You're probably right about the evolution topic. I've got dozens of books about evolution so a different scientific field would be a good idea.
I have a few suggestions which I am reading now. I wanted to reread Dawkins “The God Delusion” and have been hitting a chapter or two a day for a few weeks. I also have been reading Hitchens “God is not Great” and “The Christ Conspiracy – The Greatest Story ever Sold” by Acharya S. I think all three would be a good addition to the pool of books we could choose from.

I find that to be true of a lot of the books on religion and non religion. I read a chapter and think how profound this is, and will reread it again just to make sure it sticks. I have been going back and rereading several of the older books by Dawkins this month; I think with each read I get a better understanding of the human dependence on religion. Seems just like the religious we look for answers only in different places.
Atm im reading the blank slate by Steven Pinker, you know a book is going to be a hard read when it has size 2 letters.
