Who did they escort out? Not your husband hopefully?

I guess the guy would rather watch his house burn then, than have an athiest firefighter save it?

No, I'm sorry for not being clear They did not escort out my husband. Rather, security helped the man who was harrassing him find the door.

What I think the Simpsons is alluding to is that at some point, everyone realizes that there are things beyond control. Lisa was not necessarily praying out of faith, rather, facing death and not finding religion, but maybe finding agnosticism.

Oh good! For a minute there I was really getting cranky at the thought! No worries about the not being clear, spotted, it was probably me anyway. I'm a little slow on the uptake some days!

Oh and hats off to you and your hubby.

I wouldn't let the Simpsons thing bother you. Entertainers seek to get a response out of as many people as possible, and since a numerical majority in the U.S. at least identifies with some sort of religion, most people watching the show would be able to identify and get a little bit of a laugh out of it.

As far as their being no atheists in foxholes, who the hell can say that for sure??? That's the most arrogant statement. What, someone has watched every foxhole from some safe place or other and has taken notes at all the last-minute conversions?
