Hi,

I was wondering if there is anyone who has had a visually impaired child in the Fayette County school system. We are considering a move to GA and Fayette County. I contacted the person in charge of that department at the county offices, and it sounds wonderful, but so did the place we live in now. This place was a big mistake. I just wanted to hear first hand from someone who had the experience with this. Thanks for any help you can give!

Maybe CVI Atlanta on W. Peachtree in Atlanta could help you. They aren't in Fayetteville but they offer alot of services for the visually impaired including afterschool programs.

Smile Fayette county for Visually Impaired children

I see that your post is from 2006 so maybe this is late, but I live in Fayette Co. GA and have had a visually impaired child that started there in K and just graduated last year. He started with minimal needs but some low vision assistance and unfortunately by Senior year was requiring to be taught Braille. But my experience is Fayette county was GREAT, and assisted us with whatever we needed or whatever my son would allow them to do. I would be happy to answer questions if you still have any. But Fayette Country Georgia is a great place to live and the school system is TOP.

Default Fayette County for visually-impaired.

I would love to here more about this area.We have 12 yr old visually-impaired twins and need to live in a place that can offer them more than a remote area of N.H. Thank-you for your time.
