I am going to put the leasing office of the Park at Briarcliff to court. They delibarately postpone returning my deposit for almost half a year.
I know nothing about the law issue.
Can anybody tell me where can I get such information.

Typically they don't delay, they say you owe it. You sure you're telling the whole story? Or are they clearly saying you are due the money but we're going to party with it for a while.

Yes. They said they owe me the money. But I just have no written proof from them.
Whenever I talked to them, they said they will return the money next week. But I was kept waiting too many weeks.

Why do they owe you the $$ Just curious. Also, just remember that they could find out your trying to take them to court by reading this forum, might kinda give your cards away or somthin. Go contact a lawyer, don't get too specific on here.

The reason for the problem is that their clerk counted my rent for twice for the last month, so they put my deposit for that rent.
They found they made a mistake, they said they will return the money to me. But 2 months past, they still saying that it is in process.
I already contacted a lawyer, I can't afford the attorney fee.
I give up.

Oh, by the way, when I said I am going to find a lawyer. They all stood up, and approached me, said: you have to go!
I was scared.

Sue them in small claims (magistrate) court. You won't need a lawyer. It's a pretty straightfoward form to complete. Otherwise, contact the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation or the Atlanta Legal Aid Society for pro bono advice.

You should have called their bluff and let them physically assault you. Then you'd own them.

But seriously, call a lawyer. Greg'll be along any minute now to tell you the same thing, and then lock the thread.

You don't need an attorney. Small Claims court is intended to be "self service." Just call your local court and ask for their directions to file a complaint. Make sure that your written complaint is explained better than it is here. Bring all receipts or check copies to show you paid for whatever you are saying you paid, and the lease showing they owe you the deposit. Also, write down the dates on which you spoke to which person, and what they told you. Make sure you bring any evidence proving they owe you when you go to your hearing.
