Atlanta crime: Hair weave thieves strike again *| ajc.com
The hair suppliers should work out deals with the salons around town. If the salons are buying stolen hair at discounted prices are they not hurting their own industry?? It would seem the lost goes to the hair supply people. Aren't some of the Korean hair companies based here in Atlanta? It seems to be a million-billion dollar business, especially here.

Hair is big business, especially in a metro like Atlanta. Many women here NEED the hair weave and wigs. I am sure the thieves are NOT hair stylist, so that would mean they are stealing the hair with the intent of selling it to people who actually use it.

This is going on in other places as well. People will steal anything they can make money on. It seems like the hair thing must have been somehat recently discovered. If people are willing to pay for stolen hair, people will steal it.

Even in the video the reporter says they are reselling the hair to local salons. So this stolen hair has buyers, and there is no way all that hair is going to one salon, so that means multiple Salons are in on the scheme. The Salons are probably the ones tell the bandits which stores to hit and when. No way these typical goons would be interested in hair products for WOMEN if someone didnt put them up to it. Most hair salons are ran by women.
