4 DeKalb firefighters accused of showing up to work drunk *| ajc.com

OK, this is weird. So, they went out drinking AFTER work, got called back into work due to the storm and now they're getting into trouble for it?

I am thinking that something doesn't add up.

1. If they sent out a bulletin that said something like, "Dudes, there's this storm coming up and you're gonna prolly have to pull doubles...so stay groovy." then these guys should probably be in trouble.

2. But if they didn't then these guys shouldn't get into trouble for getting tanked AFTER their shift, when they probably had something like 12 or more hours to go before they knew they had to report back.

So, I guess my opinion about this depends. There's no info in the AJC article...that info might not yet be known or it might not be knowable. And I don't know enough about department wide policies to know better...like if this is something in their Firefighters Code or something...if you know what I mean. Sorry, I just read what I wrote and it's incoherent. It's because I'm having trouble pinning down my thoughts.

Anyway, thought I'd share...
