@AcidSnake. Not to mention the state legislator from Marietta who wants to criminalize miscarriage.

GMC is owned by the government, no wonder. It isn't even a reliable vehicle. Great choice lol

A very valid point.

My guess is that people focus on Atlanta locally because so many of us are paying the taxes here and thus have a very direct interest.

On the national level, I'd say the state legislature gets more ink. My out of state friends, especially those who lean to the left, sometimes ask me, "What is all that craziness going on down in Georgia?"

As of Nov 18, 2010 GM is a publicly traded company.

NYSE: GM

NYSE, New York Stock Exchange > Listings > Listings Directory

Yup - GM is public, but the US still owns some minority percentage - I believe about 35% - 40%.

But then I would argue that most of the revenue that the state acquires in order to give away $600,000 to a hospital in another state for an unnecessary life-flight helicopter comes from Metropolitan Atlanta, which includes the areas of North Fulton & North Dekalb. These areas are often where most of the complaints about local Atlanta politicians seem to orginate.

You would think that folks would be working themselves up in a tizzy about the actions of the state legislature inasmuch as they are about the local boss hoggs...and we hear nothing but the crickets chirping whenever the occasional spotlight is shown on your run-of-the-mill Georgia State Senator or Representative.

Stuff like that makes a guy like myself wanna say hmmm....
