I am trying to capture the classic photo of a group of pedestrians set against an urban backdrop. You know, it is the type of photo you see in Geography textbooks in the city chapter. One example is pedestrians waiting at a cross-walk on an urban street-corner, or just a large flow of people mid-block.

One caveat: it can't be Five Points.

I am posting from my phone, so when I get a chance, I will post a photo example of what I am looking for. But I think most will know what I am looking for! Thanks!

Plenty around:

Little 5
Downtown Decatur
West End @ Lee Street and Abernathy
West End @ MLK and Ashby Street
Midtown @ 10th and Piedmont
Boulevard @ Ponce
Highland and Virginia Ave
Highland and Ponce
Highland and Elizabeth
Castleberry Hill in the Evening
Edgewood in the Evening
Auburn Ave
Marietta Street in front of Centennial Park
Fairlie-Poplar (it's not 5 points. )
Peachtree Center
Ponce @ Peachtree
The District in Atlantic Station
Midtown @ 5th Street and Spring Street
Buckhead @ Lenox Road and Peachtree (a bit off right now since they are redoing the sidewalks on one side of the street)
Lindbergh City Center
EAV

There's a bunch more, but those are the big dogs.

Anywhere on Peachtree from Ellis Street up to Baker at lunchtime during the week.

Broad Street from Walton to Peachtree (technically a block north of Five Points) at lunchtime during the week.

Peachtree and 14th at lunchtime during the week.

I would say the area around Peachtree St. and International Blvd. I used to work at Peachtree Center, and I always thought it had somewhat of a big city vibe, especially around lunch time. Good backdrop for an urban pic.

Peachtree Street between Underground & Westin Hotel. That area is normally busy during business hours. Plus I think 3 of Atlantas taller building are in that strip...Westin tower & the tower with the two crown at the top...Suntrust & GP are pretty close to.

I would say Little 5 Points would be your best bet as far as pedestrians go. No highrises in that area though.

All good suggestions except for this one. This is not a pedestrian heavy intersection.

Ha I laughed when I read this. There are certainly pedestrians here, but they tend to be of the crazed hobo/streetwalker/dope boy variety. Makes for interesting fill ups at those gas stations.
