All of you Chicagoans who've moved to GA - I want to know what you think.
I too will be making that move with my family. We currently reside in Aurora, IL near Naperville and are considering moving to the Suwanee, Lawrenceville (Grayson), Cummings, Duluth areas. I'm hoping they're comparable to where we're from atmosphere wise as we're in one of the top school districts in IL (204). There's lot's of shopping and a plethora of extra-curricular activities for the kids no matter the age......
Just to give you some background we've been in this area 3 years we "transplanted" from the far South Side of Chi (Pill Hill area) are used to long commutes but wish they'd go away. I became a stay at home mom b/c of the stress of the commute, daycare prices and lack of the ability to actually be with the family.
So put me on to what you think about relocating from the Chi to GA- did it take a lot of getting used to? What are the neighborhoods like? Nice subdivisions if you live where we're considering? How's the commute to and from work (my fiance will be in either Alpharetta or Suwanee for work)?
What do you wish you had know before you moved????
