Possibly - I attended a town hall for the Cobb County SPLOST. I have to give a lot of credit to the representatives from the various Gov't agencies. They did a wonderful job of managing the crowd. But there were many many residents that spoke that had no understanding of how government needs to plan for the future and pay/fund these type of projects. There were a few good questions and comments but there was much more complaining and explaining that took place.

We live in an era where mistrust of the government is very high. Justified or not, it's out there.

So this puts a heavy burden on the proponents of the TIA to do a super duper job of selling it. They need to have concrete facts and demonstrations of how this will actually help people and exactly how the money will be spent.

General talk about things like "increasing connectivity" or "fixed rail spurs economic development" will not, in my opinion, even come close to carrying the day.
