Of course they did have a pilfering problem to keep an eye out for but the owner saw me standing & looking w/ my sack in hand & shouted something like, "Keep on moving", or somesuch type of comment/reprimand directed at me.
I was mortified w/ embarrassment & went crimson in color. As I looked back at the salesgirl who had just rung me up, she shook her head as in nonverbally saying, "Never mind him," as she was in a state of embarrassment herself over the owner's lack of diplomacy.
I should have taken my purchase up to the owner & asked to return the items & gotten my money back while explaining that I don't tolerate being spoken to with disrespect in public in a store that I regularly patronized. At least that's how I would deal with it now as I do not put up with crap.
Wow... yeah, that's pretty much cause to make a scene.

All I ever usually get from the Criminal Records staff is the "cooler than thou" vibes... and being in Little Five Points, one of the world capitals of cool, I reckon they are!

The owner was evicted by the landlord.
Oh, sorry to read that, but like I wrote elsewhere, it has been kind of difficult to catch him at the shop for a while, last summer he mentioned that he spends most of his time in the studio with his band, The Seventh Ring of Saturn:

The Seventh Ring of Saturn

And now on the band's site, Ted makes the announcement:

Welcome
We have some big news. TSROS has been practicing and recording in the back of Full Moon Records in Atlanta, GA since 2005; the record store has been in Candler Park for 23 years and was previously home to the mighty Joybang!. Clay Harper, the owner of Atlanta’s Fellini’s Pizza and La Fonda Latina chains bought the building at the beginning of 2014 and has just now (early November) given notice to the record store to have everything out by the end of next month (December) (after saying last December that he wasn’t going to make any changes and was “keeping everything the same”).
TSROS will still be getting together when time permits and we hope to be able to do some more recording soon. We’re trying to finish up two projects before we close up shop; one is our long delayed second long player “Ormythology”.

You can hear the newest (unmastered) mixes on the player below. They’re followed by two Grateful Dead songs that we recorded for Fruits de Mer Records, one of which was included on their recent “7 & 7 Is” box set.

We should have the records and CDs (roughly 300 of each) in February or March. If you would like one, or would like to help with distribution (here or abroad) please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Supreme Interstellar Holiday Blessings,

Ted and TSROS

A shame... I hadn't planned to get back to Atlanta until after New Years, but I may have to slip up that way, a least to give my regards, and have one last visit to an Atlanta landmark.
