I'd have to give the nod to Chattahoochee just because it's been so good for so long. Something for the ATL to really be proud of.

Ratram,

I consider all four high schools (Northview, JC High, Lambert, & Chattahoochee) to be comparable with slightly different demographics. JC High is starting to the get the rep as the Beverly Hills high school filled with rich kids driving around in Benz and Beemers that their parent bought them. The most expensive subdivision within JC high is CC of the south where homes in this neighborhood reaches up to $8,000,000. Northview HS reminds me of an elite public high school in southern California like Northwood or Uni HS in Irvine or Troy HS in Fullerton. Asians students make up 36% of Northview HS. I believe that Lambert is an up and coming star that is below the radar of many. I predict that in the next 5-10 years Lambert will be among the top 5 best public high schools in the state. Many of the Northview Asian families are migrating north to Lambert due to lower property taxes and newer selection of homes.

As a real estate investor, I would concentrate all my real estate investments within Lambert.

I would also like to add that average homes were built between 1995 - 1997 among all the JC High schools: Chattahoochee, Northview, and JCHS. Average homes were built between 2002 - 2004 within Lambert. Homes are newer and property taxes are much lower which makes buying with Lambert very attractive.

It sort of funny as I've always felt that Lambert should have been one of the 4 high schools in Johns Creek but left out. Currently Johns Creek is pretty much all built out and it is hard to find newer homes. When the market and jobs recovers, I believe that most new construction and new subdivisions will be built within Lambert.

Belated Merry X-Mas and happy New Year to all!

I have been considering Lambert as well...

If my husband had to drive down to Mansell Road off the 400 for work, realistically what would the drive time be (with traffic) if he were to commute from the Lambert HS area?

There are excellent high schools closer to Mansell and 400. Why would somebody choose to commute from the Lambert HS area?

40 plus minutes with lights & traffic, a very tedious commute even if it seems "close enough". In the morning it takes me 40 minutes to go only 7 miles from Abbotts Bridge & Jones Bridge (Chattahoochee Schools) to my son's school, Fulton Science Academy, located between Mansell & Haynes Bridge (W. of 400).

Default Redistricting maps

The redistricting mostly is for a new high school on the west side of Alpharetta - I think the changes to Johns Creek are fairly minimal.

I live in Johns Creek and my child is supposed to go to Chattahoochee High. I am somewhat relieved that most of the country club population moved to JCHS. In my opinion, the entire city of Johns Creek is a mixed bag. There is a fair amount of wealth here and we have excellent opportunities, but I think the horse ranch homes of Milton reflect much more wealth without drawing so much attention to themselves. Just my $0.02.
