Hello!
I am moving to Atlanta at the end of the week and found out that we have gas cooking in our home. i was wondering if anyone has a favorite gas company that they would suggest going with because our landlord said its unregulated so we can go with any company. We will be living in Fulton county in the Poncey Highlands area.
Thanks!

State PUC ScoreCard > Georgia Public Service Commission

I use Coweta-Fayette EMC Natural Gas, over time they seem (When i last did the math in 2010) the lower running price, some months they might be higher, but over all I found them the lowest most of the time).

Just remember you can negotiate a lower per-therm rate.

If cooking is the only thing in your home that is gas, you just MIGHT benefit by buying an electric stove and oven and having it installed at your own expense.

Gas itself isn't that expensive, but all of the piddly little charges that go on your bill certainly add up. If the cooking is the only thing keeping you from being able to be all electric, I would seriously look into ditching it completely.

You can save a few bucks here and there by shopping and finding the cheapest therm rate. Unless you use an awful lot of gas, though, you're unlikely to notice that big of a difference as most of the marketers are fairly similar in therm prices and the AGL pass through charges are going to be the same regardless of who you use.

We use Georgia Natural Gas, but I recently discovered that Gas South is a little bit cheaper. GNG sent out a "valued member" flier awhile back with a number for existing members to call to get a lower rate for this year... When I called, the wait was over an hour. I only have 700 minutes on my cell phone, so I put in my number for a return call. They never called back. Can't say I'm happy with the customer service line because of this. We've never had any problems with our gas service. I'm just ticked that we weren't able to get the discount.

I use SCANA and have gas stove, oven, hot-water heater, and furance. My bill has not been above $50. There is nothing like cooking on gas, its so much better than electric.

Do you have air tight foam insulation on everything, or is your house only 300 square feet?
