We are searching for homes in City of Decatur and have settled on the Winnona Park neighborhood. For those of you familiar with the area, what would living directly on S. Candler Street be like in terms of noise and traffic? Thanks for your help!

We do not live directly on Candler but pretty near it in College Heights (between Oakhurst and WP). Street noise and traffic will be heavier in the morning 7-9 and around 5-7 in the evenings. As of late it's been annoying because of the new subdivision construction Park Overlook (I think it's called) and road work right at Brower and Candler. It's only a two lane though so traffic is relative, it isn't THAT bad even at peak times. You can always just turn into Winnona, take surface streets and skip the traffic
People do drive fast down Candler though, it annoys me to no end to see commuter plates blowing through the crosswalks at Agnes.
