We moved into East Hampton so that we could be in Mt. Bethel's district. Now, however, my children will have to go to Timber Ridge. Can anyone tell me something about Timber Ridge? Do they have good standardized test scores?

Well, that makes sense.... Timber Ridge is a little closer to East Hampton than Mt. Bethel. It only takes about 2 minutes to drive to Timber Ridge, it would probably take 5+ minutes to get to Mt. Bethel, and you would have to make a left at Johnson Ferry.

As for academic standards.... I live in the area and they are both so good that they are basically the same.

Here are the latest test scores. I've listed the scores for Mount Bethel, Timber Ridge, and the overall Georgia state average. These are 5th grade scores.

2006-2007 CRCT Test Scores for 5th Grade:
(Mount Bethel - 184 students ; Timber Ridge 102 students)
--- Reading ---
MB - 0.5% fail - 57.6% pass - 41.8% exceed
TR - 2.0% fail - 52.0% pass - 46.1% exceed
GA - 14.5% fail - 62.8% pass - 22.7% exceed
--- English/Language Arts ---
MB - 2.7% fail - 53.6% pass - 43.7% exceed
TR - 3.9% fail - 52.0% pass - 44.1% exceed
GA - 12.3% fail - 63.1% pass - 24.5% exceed
--- Math ---
MB - 1.6% fail - 28.8% pass - 69.6% exceed
TR - 5.9% fail - 31.4% pass - 62.7% exceed
GA - 11.9% fail - 56.1% pass - 32.0% exceed
--- Science ---
MB - 8.7% fail - 43.2% pass - 48.1% exceed
TR - 8.8% fail - 45.1% pass - 46.1% exceed
GA - 33.3% fail - 45.3% pass - 21.5% exceed
--- Social Studies ---
MB - 1.1% fail - 42.6% pass - 56.3% exceed
TR - 2.0% fail - 44.1% pass - 53.9% exceed
GA - 11.6% fail - 67.3% pass - 21.1% exceed

As you can see, for every subject, both of these schools have double the percentage of students (or more) scoring in the "exceeds expectations" range, and far, far less students failing a section compared to the state average.

Mount Bethel has a higher population of students than Timber Ridge - I think Mt. Bethel may be the biggest elementary in East Cobb. It's notable that Mt. Bethel has so many students but still such a low failing percentage.
