For years it seems like many celebrities and pro athletes have been calling Atlanta home or have a part time home in the area. What is it about the area that attracts them?

I'd imagine we have about the same number of celebrities as our peer cities. Obviously we're not New York, L.A. or Washington, D.C., but this is a pretty big place.

Real estate is inexpensive here as well, and we have great airport connections.

Not really. Atlanta is far ahead of Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, etc. in the number of full-time or even part-time resident celebrities. Yeah, they're mostly C/D-list, black "somebodies", but it's still worth noting. Miami is probably the only other peer city that's even close.

This. Well said.

Celebrity Cities:

1. New York and Los Angeles.

2. Miami and Atlanta.

I think a lot of celebrities like Atlanta because it has a lot of the big city amenities that they want, but it offers them a certain degree of privacy that they wouldn't get in cities like NYC and LA, at least that's what Elton John has said.

For recording artists, Atlanta has a really large music industry in place, so they can live a quieter life here and still have access to world class producers and recording studios. You wouldn't believe how many hit songs from all genres have been produced in Atlanta recording studios.

And I think over all, celebs are attracted to the same things here that others are- nice weather, good airport, higher quality of life.

And you also have more actors and actresses popping up since Georgia's film and TV industry has really gotten hot.

I think someone had asked about where these celebs were living in Atlanta? I think some of them are also living in some of the suburban areas and not just in the city itself.
