Delta Air Lines, Inc. , the parent company of Edina, Minnesota-based MLT Vacations, Inc. , is considering moving MLT's corporate functions to the airline’s headquarters in Atlanta as it evaluates the vacation packager's business, reports the (Minnesota) Pioneer Press. According to the Pioneer Press: MLT was founded in 1969 as the retail travel agency for a Twin Cities company called Mainline Travel. Northwest Airlines bought MLT in 1985, and today MLT puts together travel packages sold under various names including Delta Vacations, United Vacations and Worry-Free Vacations. Packages can be purchased through agents, online, or by calling MLT's reservation center in Minot, N.D.
Steve Sear, Delta’s senior vice president of global sales, said in an April 24 memo to MLT employees obtained by the Minnesota paper, "We need to evaluate the business closely and identify opportunities to expand and enhance the MLT business model.” He added the evaluation will include the option of "relocating some MLT functions to Atlanta to better align its business functions" with Delta's corporate resources.

Sucks for the Twin Cities (told ya so, folks!), but probably a good thing for Atlanta. And the pillaging of NWA assets continues...
