As you guys know I made a transition about a year ago from georgia to michigan. And I want to give you my prospective since I left.

I like being up north because I like the weather. I like the cool nights. I like that its not so crowded and I love the schools. I got a great job here working at the hospital so its been all good.

However I miss the southern hospitality in atlanta. I always had me a girlfriend that I could have lunch or a drink with after work. I have yet to find that here. People here seem like they have a chip on their shoulder. So I just hang with husband ALL the time.

Things up north are a little more expensive especially gas, groceries, and car insurance. But lights, cable, and heat are not so expensive so it kind of evens out.

I miss the variety of restaurants in Atlanta. Its really not a lot of places to eat here. I have yet to find good chinese, mexican, chicken, seafood. So I have lost a lot of weight because I dont eat out here like I did in Atlanta.

I miss my family something fierce. You dont realize how much you need them until you are gone.

Bottom line is I miss Atlanta.

And that's a bad thing? I get missing all the restaurants but there are so many unhealthy ones here that your choices pretty much guarantee weight gain. Doesn't MI have a lot of fresh produce? No seafood??!?! Are we talking about Michigan United States? Michgan has lots of locally caught fish including salmon, pike, sturgeon and whitefish to name but a few.
