The only thing that ever makes me think about moving would be if I won some massive lottery and could afford to go anywhere. I have to play the lottery first (waste of money)! Even then I don't know if I would leave the area.
The above in bold is a hammer squarely on the head of the proverbial nail.

I moved to Dallas from Atlanta and I love it. Dallas has all that Atlanta has but more when you include the jobs and opportunity there. I love the feel of Atlanta and it is beautiful with greenery but I grew up around greenery all my life and it doesn't excite me. But I do miss the GA mountains they are beautiful. But my dependence on a place is strictly about making a living. I didn't want to leave but it was best for my family and I don't regret it and love it here now.

Indeed. HOPE has definitely done a ton to make Georgia's public colleges top notch.

Any balanced analysis would consider the higher education system, including HOPE paying for almost all tuition costs if your kid makes a B, to be a perk of living in Georgia. There aren't many places where you can get a top-notch education at a place like Georgia Tech for just a couple grand a year in tuition. And the options for a quality education are definitely expanding: for instance, GSU's median SAT score has gone up by about 100 points since HOPE was implemented--that's a big change.

The beltline is a jewel in disguise.
After seeing what the HighLine in NYC did to the surrounding neighborhoods, I fully agree with this statement. The BetlLine is bigger and longer than the Highline and will have transit. It may be 10-20 years, but there will be transit on the BeltLine. Once its built, it will be a model for cities worldwide.

Having lived in different cities such as NYC (presently), New Orleans, L.A., Miami, etc...I love ATL. For my own reasons. No single city is epicenter of all things BUT I can do everything I do here in NYC in ATL and the city caters more to my extracuricculars than NYC. Im into racing motorcycles and racetracks and the ATL area has 2 professionally designed tracks: Road Atlanta and Atlanta Motorsports Park. Watken Glenn upstate NY is all they have to offer.
