The point is, Chicago has train lines going literally in every direction from the Loop with extensive service in the Loop. This makes going around the city VERY simple. I don't care about the numbers or how much people ride it. All I or somone else should care about is where you can go with the service.

This does not include the commuter rail services going even farther out.

Okay, so the ATL stinks compared to New York, Chicago or London.

How many times do we have to be beaten over the head with that?

I said this because someone is trying to make an argument that Atlanta's MARTA service and extensiveness is fine for a metro of its size when its clearly not. Chicago was mentioned in earlier posts and was compared to Atlanta.

No the point is more people still drive regardless how extensive it is.. so Chicago is car cultured too and it seems they don't care either because if they did more people would be using it . But instead majority of the metro is on there cars just like Atlanta.

For a city with 2.8 million people, that's a far better statistic to go by. If you do include the 9.4 million people in the metro area, then you have to include METRA which gets 300k on an average weekday. Comparing that to 400k for the regional MARTA system makes a world of a difference. So... Comparing 9.4mil people with 1.8-2mil using transit compared to 5mil people with 450k using transit. Drastically different picture.

So in rebuttal, Chicago has better numbers than DC and Atlanta. Even in terms of percentage of riders.
Rough calculations:
16% for Chicago
11% for Washington DC
9.3% for Atlanta
Very rough calculations but comparing MSA riderships... Yeah...

And the numbers are even more higher with people driving there cars. What are the other 7 to 8 million people doing in the metro area. DRIVING!!!! That's why Chicago has one of the worst traffic congestions in the USA right along with DC. The infrastructure is old and isn't keeping up with the amount of cars hitting the highway..

Uhhh, how come I have never heard of this place? Sounds interesting enough to check out. Yelp seems to like it
Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint - Downtown - Atlanta, GA

Is this in a hotel or is it a stand alone restaurant?

I thought that was a club honestly when I walked past it. I know what he or she is talking about. Again, this is in Peachtree Center...and fairlie poplar really only has Landmark Diner and Mama Mia or whatever that place is called open late.... Broad street is still dead past 8 on weekdays.

It looks like it a jazz type point with a diner in it...No, there is no hotel.
