I'd like to hear from people the have been in Atlanta for at 3 years.

1-Are you happy with your decision to relocate to Atlanta?

2-Where did you move from?

3-How long do you plan on staying in Atlanta?

I am seriously considering it. I want to get out of Ohio and never return. I am so sick of the snow!!

I have a great amount saved and I am in a good field and there is no doubt that I can find a job in my field.

I answer your question I moved back in 2009.

Never been happier. I will be really happy next summer when these two developments open that will change Atlanta for good.

You don't really appreciate Atlanta until you leave Atlanta. We take a lot of things for granted living here

Been here about 2.5 years and moved here from Michigan. We like where we are and I'm happy with my job. As to how long we plan on staying, it depends on many factors. Our 4 kids are integrated in their schools right now, so it will take a good opportunity for us to move elsewhere. We are pleased with the schools (West Forsyth HS boundary in Forsyth county), most of our shopping within 10 mins away - either on Windward ave, the Avenues, or at the Marketplace. North Point mall is only 20 mins away. More house for the money and lot less taxes than Michigan overall. I do miss Lake Michigan during the spring, summer, and fall.

I travel 4-5 times a year for work and take the MARTA right to the airport instead of driving through town. Downtown ATL is about 40 minutes away on Sat or Sunday...we go into town about once every 4-5 weeks. Lots to do in the ATL area within reasonable drive.

I don't blame you about the snow. It does get cold here but winters are short lived. It was something like 75 degrees on Sunday but cooler weather later this week. Even during the cold weather, it's usually sunny. My next door neighbor moved here from Long Island NY...he has a convertible car and he was able to drive with the top down at least one day each month. I love the heat so I don't mind the constant 95 degree weather 3-4 months. This winter has been pretty rainy for the most part.

Good luck on your search!

Mich,

thanks for the reply.

I don't have any children nor do I plan on having any. I am 39y/o and want to find a place that I can call home.

I've lived in Detroit, Chicago and Dayton,Ohio all for work. I am tired of moving around.

I want a place that I can move to for the long hall and call home, make new friends and buy a business(or 2 or 3)

I'm still young enough so I want to get the ball rolling before I get too old to do anything.
