I'm moving to Midtown, does anyone have recommendations about what part of town to live in and why? Like if you could choose between Mayfair, Spire, Plaza, Viewpoint, which would you choose? Other suggestions? I am a single professional male, looking forward to the social aspects of living in town.

Thanks.

I looked at a few of the buildings you mentioned, went with 1010 and love it. Can't go wrong with Midtown though. Great place to live. I would recommend focusing your search within the confines of 5th St to 14th St and W Peachtree to Juniper; go outside of that radius and it's just not very walkable.

Agree with Tony.

Even though the buildings are all in pretty close proximity, there are nuances that could make you love one and hate another.

For example, Spire and Viewpoint are both Novare properties and are quite similar to each other with the whole semi-loft exposed concrete wall kind of feel while 1010 offers complete finishes. Then you've got Plaza Midtown which has the awesome convenience of a Publix in the building, which is a huge draw for a lot of people, but it's also not on Peachtree and a lot of people just don't like not being right on the action.

I've never lived in any of these buildings, but one bit a friend shared with me is look for a unit with a deeded parking spot on a low floor of the deck. He was really high up on the deck and said it took him what seemed like forever every time he came and went because he had to drive around the parking lot a million times to get up and down to and from his parking spot. Personally, I would look for a unit that has deeded storage, but maybe not everybody needs that.

There are also properties on the other side of Peachtree along Juniper that have a more traditional and less modern feel that a lot of people like. They are generally (but not always) more expensive.

If I had my choice, I would definitely choose Luxe. It's light years beyond the rest, but also quite a bit pricier.

Out of what you mentioned, I would personally probably pick Plaza Midtown first because I would like having the Publix and they feel slightly less mass produced and higher quality than Novare. After that, I would go with Viewpoint, then Spire, and Mayfair last because it's old and dated. But so much is personal choice.

I agree with renting first before buying.

I was looking at Midtown condos, too, before I settled down in Atlanta a few years ago. I'd encourage you to also look at West Midtown, which has a great bar, restaurant, and art scene and is very walkable. It's nowhere near as big or hectic as Midtown. Check out the condos at White Provision, specifically, and some of the many new luxury apartments being built around Howell Mill.

I looked at Viewpoint, but ultimately decided on West Midtown for a lot of reasons. (A big one was that parking was way less of a hassle on the westside, and there were fewer chain restaurants and more of an artsy vibe over here.)

Not sure of your price range, but also check out The Dakota. It's between Juniper and Piedmont and 6th and 7th. Great location for Piedmont Park access, just a block walk off of Peachtree. It's on a bit more of "natural" block - trees, grass, shrubs, dog walking area. I lived there for a couple of years 8 years ago and really liked it.
