My wife and I are looking to relocate to Atlanta and we fell in love with the homes we see in Sandtown. We haven't seen them in person all online. Can any one tell me if Sandtown is a good/safe place to live and raise kids?

Thank you.

I have a bit of family that lives in that area. It is very safe but I personally wouldn't raise my kids there because the school system is not very good in S Fulton. My younger cousin goes to Randolph and will be going to Sandtown middle next year and that s not a system I would want my daughter in. Also, if you like a variety of amenities like - thai food, whole foods, tjs, etc you won't find it out there. There are a lot of restaurants if you drive over to Camp Creek but more like Red Lobster and Long Horn.

I agree with Californiatransplant. You should visit and see if you like it.

I think Niskey Cove is a bit further up Campbellton, but still the same zip code.

Sandtown is a nice area, but not really culturally diverse IMO. I don't mind that for now (I'm about 15 minutes south, In Fairburn), but I might think about moving to other areas if I have kids and don't like the South Fulton school system

To raise kids, I might move out to Fayette County, Henry, Gwinnett, Cobb, or Rockdale.

I love Camp Creek, don't get me wrong, but the South Fulton school system isn't the best
