The vast majority of the people up there are married with families and at least 10-15 years older than you if that isn't the case. There are young people everywhere but be realistic, north Fulton is not the "hang out spot" for the majority of young people if they are over high school age.
I agree. I have live ITP and live in Milton now - b/c of growing family.

If it were me I would look in Buckhead or the Brookhaven area. I've never been much of a fan of the Perimeter area for a single person but people here do seem to mention it somewhat frequently. For socializing on the weekends, Buckhead and Brookhaven would be a short cab ride to/from most places. To me - that would be a priority.

Exclamation Buckhead or Brookhaven

Speaking from experience: In the long run you might find living near others in your age group to be preferable to a shorter commute. The drive from exit 2 is not that bad in the morning (but can get bad in the afternoon rush hour depending on what time you leave work). Yes, you will spend more money on gas if you live near exit 2. I would consider it a necessary expense. Alpharetta/Milton is a great area with a lot of amenities, but if you live there at 26 you will find yourself isolated from other young professionals. You will not find many twenty-something's living near Windward.

Dunwoody is another option in addition to exit 2.

Best of luck in your search.

I say if the OP is into high school girls or older MILFs then Alpharetta/Milton are great options. Otherwise no way.

You'll have more than a 30 minute commute, but two of the best areas for young professionals are Buckhead and Midtown. Buckhead will be closer to your work.

Strangejelly: The OP will not find a suitable apartment "intown" on his budget. Unless he wants roommates. Perimeter Center is an excellent option for him.
