depends..if renting you may not get the nice schools, and I am not buying, so maybe that has alot to do with it, so I am looking into leasing a home now over renting a apt or townhome, cause i want the best school for my child,

That S/D didn't have a pool, but the one across the street, Willow Creek, did. There you could probably rent a house for about $1,300. Also, check out West Cobb. Harrison is one of the better High School districts.

In this kind of Real Estate market I expect that there are more "nice" homes available for rent right now. a friend of mine wasn't quite ready to buy a house so he found a nice house that was for sale, the owners had transferred, and it was sitting vacant. He offered to rent it for a year so that they would have the income to pay the mortgage on it, and if all works out he will buy it at some point during that year. They said yes. Its worth a shot. Just because a vacant house doesn't have a "For Rent" sign, it doesn't mean you can't rent it.

Seaharbour:

I live in the Harrison HS area (West Cobb), and I have seen some homes that have sat on the market for a while that haven't sold and are deciding to rent it out instead. I don't think the rent on these would be too bad, either. A home in the next neighborhood over from us has been on the market for a long time and a "for rent" sign just went up. A home on our street just went up for rent, but it has a big yard and I'm not sure if you are looking for something that is low maintenance.

You might check out the Calumet West subdivision; I think I have seen a few rentals in that neighborhood that would probably be within a good price range, and the neighborhood has a swimming pool and tennis court. This year they go to Bullard/McClure/Harrison and next year are redistricted to Due West/McClure/Harrision....all great schools.

Default Really?

I just read this post and we just narrowed down our search for an apartment in Kennesaw off George Bugsbee Drive. This area is nice and quiet AND they have a bunch of new schools that have wonderful reviews. I just didn't see the terrible schools you are referring to. Anyway, it's good you found something that works for you and your family. Good luck to you.
