I really don't know too much in-depth details about the guy, but on the surface, he seems great.

I have heard rumblings of corruption and the like, but I dunno if that is political opponent's spin or if there is any truth to it. Seems like he is getting the job done, so hurray!

Sooooo, when's that "secret" new transportation plan going to debut?

Exactly what I would like to know! Does anyone know the source of this unconfirmed rumor?

I think I have only seen it mentioned on this forum by one poster, so it may be bunk.

Not sure what the reference is to a secret plan but Mayor Reed was on record a while back saying something big would be announced and the impression was it would be along the lines of public private partnerships.

Reed wants to fast track the Beltline, so maybe he is referring to finishing the light rail portion quicker?

Talking Reed

I feel that Reed has done a good job in his first term, granted there are some things I do not agree with but overall he has been good for Atlanta.

Frankly, it is good to see a Mayor of our largest Capitol City and a Governor work together as Deal and Reed have done to make a state great. Funny, Georgia has always been the laughing stock poster child of the Northern states, but look at us know. Number 1 for business, a location where people want to come, Heck! we even have the Walking Dead TV Show

Reed reminds me of Rendell when I lived in Philadelphia except backwards. Reed took a city on the brink, at a cross road, a city that will either become a beaon of success or a model for failure. Reed overall seems to be a moderate, a person who loves his native city and will cross the isle to make it better. He networks, he listens, and he works for Atlanta. Again, he loves his City. This was also Rendell. The advertisement is true and hits home! Well, it must have as Queen Shirley went on the offense in full whine mode when it was released. It's good to see where Atlanta is versus what it was. To take a city that was a functional mess of blight, decay, deficit spending, and crime during the Campbell / Franklin misery tour to what is stated previous is a true success.

My comment about Reed and Rendell in regard to backward is that Philly went the opposite. From a Reed style to John Street and Nutter. Today Philly is the Atlanta of yesterday.

Good Job Reed!
