THIS. I mean, what's with that comfortable seating?? This is 'Merica! God intended us to watch movies while sitting bolt upright, eating solidified corn syrup, bumping elbows with our teenage neighbors, and having our plastic seats kicked over by the people behind us... you know, like coach. I mean, first class on airplanes really confuses the hell out of me too. I don't know why people with money insist on being so comfortable. Crazy world we live in!

And don't even get me started on the bar... alcohol has NO PLACE in leisurely nighttime activities

LOL!!! I appreciate the comfy seating at Phipps but everything else is just too much. I think I'm too old fashioned for my own good.

If somebody wants to pay for a first class ticket that's perfectly fine. I've done it myself on occasion.

But spending a few bucks doesn't make you a "Very Important Person."

My VIP movie treatment: six pack of beer, Zesto burger, and snacks at the Starlight drive in.

This is the way to go. $7 for two movies is much more reasonable.

If you are spending money to get special treatment, then to me that seems to be the opposite of being a VIP. The real VIP's don't have to ask for it, much less pay extra for it.
I worked in the movies when I was younger. You are half right. They don't have to ask for it but they do pay for it. Real VIPs do not go to regular showings of movies. They arrange for private screenings either alone or with other VIPs. At least that was how it was done back then. I expect now, with the new digital projectors, the VIP can arrange a private screening in their own home. But I do know when I worked in Chicago, they would pay $$$ to rent out the theatre for them and their guest.

The most comfortable seating is in my truck at the Starlight Drive In. 2 first run movies for $8. Can't be beat!
