To do any of the following you need a valid ID, why on earth would anyone not be in favor of requiring some form of ID to protect the integrity of our elections?
Ok, so you can copy and paste.

Many people are not in favor of it because it's merely a voter suppression tactic. Voting integrity wasn't an issue until many in the GOP saw voter suppression laws as a way to trim some votes.

You do know that some Republicans have actually admitted to this right?

In states like NC, the state legislature cut polling stations at universities, forcing countless carless students to have to travel to vote. It's insane. If you care about the integrity of elections, you would care that a political party is systematically cutting away at voting opportunity.

That is reasonable.

Requiring an ID isn't suppression. It's a simple way to prevent fraud.
Requiring people to pay for an ID is not suppression. It's just covering the cost.
The right to bear arms is protected by the constitution and you need an ID to buy a gun.

I don't feel sorry for people who aren't responsible enough to have an ID.

I vote blue, by the way. I just think people should quit playing the victim.

Gerrymandering is a different story...

Fraud isn't happening. I already posted a video of a Republican stating the exact purpose of these laws.

That's BS. Your statement dismisses the actual intent of the law (once again I posted a video of a Republican stating the intent).

One guy speaks for an entire party? C'mon son. You are acting like you have a smoking gun when all you have is a wet turd.

Use common sense.

Sorry, where did you read that it's "one guy speaks for an entire party"

It's an example. He's not the only one. Use common sense indeed. There is no voter fraud issue and the GOP is making an extensive effort to restrict voting with laws and other tactics. These are facts.

Even if there is no voter fraud issue now (which is a huge 'IF' and a bold statement presented as fact that was not backed up in anyway), why not require it as a safeguard against future voter fraud? Seems like an easy fix to a potential problem. Seems like little very effort to mitigate a huge potential risk to our elections.

You seem very angry. Almost as if you might kill someone. We ought to have you put down to prevent any potential crimes you might commit.

See how that works?

Why Voter ID Laws Aren?t Really about Fraud | Government / Elections / Politics | FRONTLINE | PBS

Quote:
Voter ID laws don’t address what appears to be a more common source of voter fraud: mail-in absentee ballots.

A FRONTLINE analysis of voting laws nationwide found that only six of the 31 states that require ID at the polls apply those standards to absentee voters, who are generally whiter and older than in-person voters. And two states with strict photo ID policies for in-person voters — Rhode Island and Georgia — have recently passed bills that allow anyone to mail in a ballot.

Voter fraud generally rarely happens. When it does, election law experts say it happens more often through mail-in ballots than people impersonating eligible voters at the polls. An analysis by News21, a journalism project at Arizona State University, found 28 cases of voter fraud convictions since 2000. Of those, 14 percent involved absentee ballot fraud. Voter impersonation, the form of fraud that voter ID laws are designed to prevent, made up only 3.6 percent of those cases. (Other types included double voting, the most common form, at 25 percent, and felons voting when they were prohibited from doing so. But neither of those would be prevented by voter ID laws, either.)
