Poor poor Pony | Opinion | Creative Loafing Atlanta

"Last spring, the 22-year-old strip club filed a lawsuit against the recently incorporated city. The suit challenges a new ordinance passed that effectively renders the Pink Pony's business model illegal. If enforced, the ordinance would force the club to shut its doors. In late December 2013, the suit was tossed out of a DeKalb County Superior Court on its glittery ass. Like all the best asses do, the club promptly bounced back and filed an appeal with the Georgia Supreme Court, which must decide whether to hear the case later this year."

I don't understand that headline. The article says the Pink Pony sued Brookhaven, not the other way around.

So basically Brookhaven has said they can't strip and serve drinks in a strip club. You know how crazy that sounds?

I assume the motive was to make them unfeasible. That's one of the usual approaches when cities are trying to limit adult businesses.

Yeah.

I imagine this club might get grandfathered in since they've been around for a while. I've seen something that appears to be a drive-thru liquor store in Cobb when I'm pretty sure those are illegal now. (I'm just using that as an example of how some businesses appear to have special privileges.)

I think Brookhaven should just man-up and say they want to ban adult businesses or what not. Don't try to make a strip club into a Chuck E. Cheese or force them into bankruptcy. I mean seriously if I were on a girl's night out that included a strip club, I'd expect to see a stripper. Otherwise, we should probably pick a different venue.

LOL, I'd say so. 22 pages was tmi. It just seemed they were being passive aggressive about it. However, tomorrow will be a new day and I can read through that with fresh eyes.
