Exactly--as clear as ice!

Even if there is the biggest ice storm in 100 years, the media will scream at Atlanta residents for incompetence because there was only an inch of real snow.

Yeah, the storm will get very dangerous into the early morning hours(1 am) Wednesday. Atlanta may actually start off as a heavy snow transitioning into freezing rain for a long time, then it will begin to make the transition to sleet around late afternoon, before fully becoming mostly/all snow by night as the comma head of the system rears it's head.

I'm very worried at the moment. Trees are almost everywhere around me. I'm praying whatever my power company was doing to the wires yesterday in front of my neighborhood helps in keeping power on, but I feel I'm unlucky and it will turn off so this may be my last day with power. I'll also be likely hearing branches breaking off and loud noises all day and night as the ice accumulates on everything. Very scary next 48 hours. Truly historic, but it will be a sight to behold Thursday morning after it's all said and done.

I read on the news about a threat I hadn't thought about - as the weather warms Friday, large chunks of ice may start falling from overpasses onto the roadway below. Yikes!

Okay - does that 33 that's below the really dark blue color imply we'll get 33 inches of snow????? Surely not. But what does it mean other than a poop pile of snow?

I expect the power in my house to go out- I have all electric and no gas. I've got bananas, donuts, pop tarts, crackers, bottled water, peanut butter, lots of lots of canned stuff to heat up on the side burner of the grill, blankets, candles, plenty of reading material, and I'm about to start breaking up cardboard so I can build a fire in the fireplace. I could be more prepared, but I think I'll be alright.

The only thing I'm not sure of yet is where to park my car. I have a 100 foot concrete driveway that goes down hill to the main road out of the subdivision. At the bottom of the hill are trees and power lines. If I park at the bottom of the hill, I worry that the ice will cause trees to fall on the car. If I park at the top of the driveway there are no trees, but 'd slide down the hill on ice into the neighbor's yard and maybe house. I chose top of the hill and wait for the ice on driveway to thaw.

I believe it's color coded for temperature

That's the DBZ or the returns. Basically how heavy the precip is. 33 is very heavy snow.

I got an email from a friend in the Northeast today. A big slab of ice came off her roof, and took out half her deck! It's definitely something to be aware of.
