From Milan to Mecca: the world's most powerful city brands revealed | Cities | theguardian.com

MARTA, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, is the hub of a thriving transportation system that gives Atlanta's brand a boost, and it has become the world capital of hip-hop. But it remains dangerous in places, and there just isn't enough for visitors to see to make the capital of Georgia competitive with the top tier of US cities.

We should be able to increase our rankings once PCM, BA, Beltline, streetcar, etc are complete. Once this new movie studios open it will make our brand even stronger

We are in the top 10 in the U.S.

On the list...the only U.S. cities ahead of us are LA, NY, Las Vegas, Chicago, and San Francisco.

(I looked quickly...did I miss any? Let me know...)

they already rated us at #6 in the US. if you read the rest of the list, we're only behind NYC, LA, chicago, san francisco and las vegas.

They site crime and not enough visitors to Atlanta to put it in the top year. But a quick search shows Vegas has 39 million visitors per year and Chicago has 46million per year, not much different than Atlanta's 41. Of course its all very subjective.

They "cite" crime. Atlanta is not loaded with attractions. People might be coming for the conventions/conferences. Surprised that Orlando didn't make it. Incredible collection of attractions they have. Guess its counterpart, Las Vegas, has a name and image.
