Don't quote me on this, but someone in the know said that Tom Ford, Carolina Herrera, Dior, Vera Wang, DVF, D&G, and Celine are also opening too.

I mean these are stores that are putting a lot of faith in Atlanta and the Southeast. I just don't know if this is going to workout the way they want. It's too much too fast IMHO. But what do I know.

Fast forward to today.

As far as I know, BA is the hottest new shopping destination in the Southeast but I was told by this certain someone that Lenox and Phipps are packing their bags and coming with it. They have no intention of losing their status as the premier shopping destination in our region.

She runs in a tight knit "in the know" circle in Manhattan because she went to NYU but her family is still in Buckhead. She told me this and I thought she was losing her mind... but I see she was right once again.

You are probably right. BA will have 80-85 total stores/restaurants. They have announced 28 so that leave at least 52 stores left to be announced. I'm sure the stores you post will also be In the lineup.

LS and PP will still be the #1 shopping destination in the SE but it will not be the #1 destination for luxury shopping anymore.

I think PCM retail lineup is going to sneak up on AS. AS better step it up retail wise for mid level retail

What's funny is that folks in New York knows what's going to happen in Atlanta before Atlanta knows what's going to happen. That's the kind of power New York has and influence it exerts. Unrivaled. I love it.

And also, I find it hard to believe even still that Tom Ford and Celine are pressing to open in Atlanta. That is incredible if it comes to pass.

Atlanta's retail scene is heating up but just in the luxury category or just in Buckhead either. As mentioned earlier, PCM will have some interesting retail tenants many first in market. Westside Provisions District is another example of first in market , national brand retail with Jack Spade, Steven Alan and homegrown, Sid Mashburn. Rumor has it that WSPD has some exciting new retail slated for the Figo site once it has been cleared and rebuilt.

Regarding the rumors from isawoody, Tom Ford, Dior and Celine have committed to Oliver McMillan's Houston project, River Oaks District, and so it is likely that they will be included in BA. As for the others, Simon is not going to concede anything so look for some bold face names to end up in Phipps/ Lenox.

What will be interesting to watch going forward, will be whether or not luxury brands like Barney's and Lord & Taylor return to Atlanta and where? Keep your eyes on the corner of Pharr Road and Peachtree.

When did Barney's and Lord & Taylor leave?

Does PP and LS have any room to bring in more retail?

Does anyone know what is going to be on the block with the Buckhead Bottle Bar? I read that a developer is going to teardown that entire block of for an unknown development.
