Is this a mostly safe area to live in? Its close to Memorial but just east of Winnona Park seems like a nice area just wanted some opinions from those that know the area. Schools are not an issue.

I haven't heard anything bad about it and it's right next to several nice areas--WP, Midway Woods, and Avondale Estates. I would be surprised if it were much less safe than those areas.

Yes, it's a pretty decent area on its own as-is Avondale Estates and everything up to E. College. The Belvedere area there are Memorial and Columbia can be a tad sketchy, but during the day it's not bad.

I like it and I think it's getting better all the time. I noticed they tore down some sketchy apartments on Columbia and they're putting new residences in. I shop at the Aldi over there all the time, bring my kids, I'm completely comfortable. I don't really like the Kroger City Center, but there are other options.

Used to live there in the early part of 2000 - in fact I just saw that our old, super cute home is for sale (1070 Forrest Blvd). I loved living there and enjoyed the proximity to Avondale and Decatur. Never had an issue with safety nor did I ever feel unsafe. Go for it!
