They were big cheap skates. But since Arthur Blank took over the Falcons have spent as much if not more than most teams but still always seems to be some glaring deficiency somewhere on the team. A scrappy team with some talent can make it to the playoffs like that but there's no way they will succeed in the playoffs.

I ask this question not as a bad fan with no loyalty. I've always been a supporter of Atlanta teams and frankly wouldn't know how to root for a team that's not from my home if I tried. I'm just that type of guy. Can't imagine jumping a wagon and dismayed by those who do. But, the question remains. How is it in this region of the country where football is king and high school and colleges are the best producers of talent and coaches in the nation and we don't except anything but the highest of quality is it that we simply can not manage year after year decade after decade to put together a truly solid pro football team. Even in the year we went to the super bowl it was only because our team over achieved and it's serious short comings was quickly exposed by Denver.

I'ts sickening to watch these Northern and Western teams always pluck up our talent and use it against us to crush our lackluster rosters from all over the country. Don't get me wrong we have some great talent on the Falcons now but there are always some area's where we are completely deficit. Like this year we don't have a single defensive lineman capable of playing dominate overpowering one on one match ups. That's especially frustrating to see living in a part of the country that prides itself in producing just those kind of players and has a tradition of strong defensive teams.

When you get down to it. Compared to other good teams the Falcon organization is just really lousy at talent scouting and team management. Why is this?

Call me crazy but I love football and I got no love for teams not from here. I can respect a good team from somewhere else but I got no feelings for them. So through the good or bad the teams in the G.A. is all I got.

I'm a fan since I'm from Ga but it's hard for me to be a die hard fan with no ring. It's kind of like a woman being a die hard fan to the dude she been with for 20 years with no wedding ring
