Could be. I know KIA is considering adding another U.S. plant. Either way this will have a huge impact on the South Metro.

I'm not surprised. Already the large Kia plant. 85 is an important freeway and south of 285 doesn't have anywhere near the traffic as the northside and the south metro is more convenient to the airport.

At that scale it certainly is the right size for an auto assembly plant and with that much space reserved for research and development it sounds like it could be a really important operation with a lot of engineers in tow. Maybe assembling a flag ship vehicle. But it doesn't have to be KIA though. Practically all the foreign automakers have been building operations in our surrounding states in the last couple decades. Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Daimler, BMW, and Mercedes have all built plants in Alabama and South Carolina so there are plenty of possibilities.

Any one know the exact location? Is it adjacent to 85? South or north of the interstate? Wish there was a map or link to one. The US 27A/29 exit is due south of the city of Newnan and just north of the town of Moreland. The county airport is at this exit.

Well, answered my own question. Google is amazing isn't it?

.... having trouble linking a PDF file with several maps. But the majority of this assemblage is in the triangle formed by 85 to the west, 27/29 to the east and Bethlehem Church Road to the south. A small portion is east of 27/29 adjacent to the Newnan Coweta airport. Looks like it will take most of the undeveloped land between Moreland and the interstate.

Googled Bridgeport Industial Coweta and found it pretty easily.
