Found floorplans released for the apartments at Avalon in Alpharetta

Let's just say the rent is ridiculous; It is more than you pay even in midtown; 1br starts at 1755, and rent climbs to 5070 for the 2br corner units.

I think developers should obviously charge what the market will bear, but looking around at the other rentals in the area, including single family homes, I just don't see how those prices are going to work.

Why can an employee request to get paid the max at their job but developers can't charge the max at their "job"

Huh? If you request to be paid 100,000 working as a fast food worker the boss will laugh in your face. Same way I laugh at anyone crazy enough to pay this much for rent in Alpharetta.

I rent a brand new 3br apt. in heart of Midtown for 2660 currently, which has space comparable to the units here that are $5070 a month

Failure to understand simple economic principles. I wouldn't pay 5k to live there and the people who are going to would probably never live in the places I have gladly called home. The fact is, as long as a couple hundred people are willing, it doesn't make a difference what the other seven billion of us think.

I'm almost certain they will be successful in filling these apartments. People were saying this project would never happen. Now their retail is almost fully leased and plans are being or have been filed for phase two, which will include 500k sqft of office, several hundred homes, a hotel and a convention center.

I don't understand why people care about what other people are willing to pay for stuff.

Huh? Of course they can ask. Whoever said they couldn't ask?

Prediction: Before all is said and done, the 5070 corner units go down in price a lot.

What's ridiculous about it? Some people may prefer Avalon or find it more convenient to work, shopping, etc.
