if you asked yourself this question 10 or 15 years ago when most people were on dial-up, (and DSL and technologies were in its infancy) you would probably be satisfied too, wondering what else could you do with the internet besides email and browsing websites with Netscape Navigator. Try doing all of those things now (simultaneously, since so many of our home devices require the internet) on a dial-up, and you will pull your hair out waiting because of the slow speed.

who knows what new technologies will come out that will need that much bandwidth? there will come a time when even gigabit speeds might not be enough... hopefully not in our lifetimes, but it is a possibility!
